Several high-paying occupations that neuroscience majors reach are not neuroscience jobs at all. Pharmacists, at a median of $140,910, require a Doctor of Pharmacy and a state license. Clinical and counseling psychologists, at $100,580 with the fastest projected growth here at 11.2 percent, require a doctorate and licensure. Neuroscience is respected preparation for both. It is not a substitute for either.
It is a real constraint, and the answer depends on which part of the degree you are asking about.
