  7. Verify recognized institutional accreditation through the U.S. Department of Education database, and check the business school’s accreditation status.
No accreditor evaluates MIS programs specifically. Institutional accreditation is the check that matters, with AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE business accreditation as a meaningful secondary signal for business-school programs and ABET computing accreditation for some information systems programs. Vendor certifications in particular platforms – cloud providers, ERP suites, project management bodies – are separate credentials issued by companies and associations, not accreditation, and a degree does not confer them.
